The Silence Will Be Deafening

Overgrown fraternity hazing occurs in an Iraqi prison and the entire world seems to be in an uproar.

Al-Quida related terrorist group beheads an American prisoner, puts the video on their website and even holds the head in front of the camera, and the silence will be deafening.

Someone please explain that to me.

EDIT: By 'silence' I was referring to the 'Arab Street' such as Syria, Saudi Arabia, and other such Middle Eastern countries. You know, all those countries whose societies have created all these religious zealots that want to kill everyone differernt than them, especially us. If it fair to have the double standard? Of course not. Hence the point of this post.

I fully expect Americans to not be silent and based on news reports we definately are not keeping our mouths shut on this.

By the way: this nonsense about soldiers not being trained on the Geneva Convention on treatment of prisoners of war is total BS. All soldiers get some minimal training on POW treatment. They don't need to know the Thrid Geneva Convention backwards and forwards. That is what JAG lawyers are for. Perhaps these Military Police didn't get a level of training appropriate to their position, but they know enough not to do things like that. These yahoos lacked a moral compass to know not to do things like a fraternity hazing party against these prisoners. It is pretty simple: treat someone else how you would like to be treated in their position.
