Sirens

You hear the sirens, you go online to check various weather sites to see if the tornadoes are coming your way, and then you wait. After spending a few minutes online the best I could say to the others was, "It'll be close."

Luckily the worst of the of the storms went a bit east of us, but time stopped for a bit. Except for an occasional glance at the TV, putting an ear to the weather radio, working on a Windows XP install on a laptop, and grabbing a few more nachos.

Still, it's a helpless feeling for a few minutes. You know you can't do anything and you're at the mercy of inbound storms.
