Wang Chung had it right. If the guy who is leading knows what he is doing, the girl will naturally follow even if she doesn't know what she is doing. Well, as long as the guy doesn't go into anything very advanced at least. Don't throw too many spins at her or she'll get dizzy.

This Saturday school gets turned into a Salsa dance club. First, no one consulted me to ask if the timing was good for me!!!!! Oh well, there will be plenty of dancing at the wedding reception I'm sure. Second: if you're a student reading this GO TO IT! Don't let this building become a total symbol of hell. Associate some good memories here and a great big party is a perfect way to do that. Third, don't be a coward and think, "Well I don't know what I'm doing and I'm going to look stupid!" The instructors coming are top notch people who know what they're doing. They'll teach you enough so you can muddle your way through the night okay. Don't be a self-conscious dumb-ass. People need to learn to not take themselves so seriously. Once you can laugh at yourself you can enjoy yourself, and learning new things is never a bad idea. Hell, isn't that why you're in school in the first place? Fourth, don't forget the etiquette. Always thank your dance partner afterwards and never give a response of "Not now, but maybe later" unless you truly mean it. Fifth, this is NOT a meat market. If I could be there Saturday night I have to admit one of my favorite things to watch for would be when a female classmate knocks some skanky 1L's punk ass down to the floor. PRICELESS! 1L's are the scourge of the earth ;-)

So have fun y'all! Instead of having golf as a physical education requirement perhaps it should be salsa dancing. I've meet more lawyers that way lately and she did like to spin last night.
